This year, I will be one of the facilitators at the third annual Kaleidoscope.
Kaleidoscope is a national people of color cabaret event. The mission is to entertain and cast light on the knowledge, actions, and transformations that pertain to people of color performance and race-positive sexuality.
Workshops take place on September 25th and 26th with the performance night on September 26th. Visit the website for more information on the stars of the night on the 26th-http://www.kaleidoscopecabaret.com.
I will be leading a discussion on plus-sized burlesque in a small-sized community. We will go over the history of plus-sized burlesque, what happen to the ‘curvy is sexy’ attitude of yesteryear, and we’ll also get up and shake what our mama gave us.
I hope you will join me in the fun, factual, sassy workshop.
$10-$15 sliding scale
Workshops are happening at Mission Cultural Center at 2868 Mission St., San Francisco, CA, 94110. For a map, click here.
